Dacia Launches New Sandero

Dacia Sandero

Affordable to buy and run epitomises everything that Dacia stands for.  Following in the footsteps of the Duster which launched here in July 2012, Dacia’s new supermini the all-new Sandero has arrived and like its chunkier sibling, comes at a shockingly affordable price.

With Dacia’s Duster already shaking up the Irish motor industry, the new 5-door spacious, yet compact Sandero supermini offers impressive cabin space for up to five adults, and a boot capacity of 320 L, yet comes at a price tag of a segment below. For just €9990, Dacia Sandero offers an unrivalled price/size ratio.

One of the fastest growing brands in Europe, Dacia is now the fastest growing network in Ireland as new Dacia Dealers will be announced in the coming days.

Dacia is even more generous with the all-new Sandero, which features contemporary, upmarket looks, with more than a hint of ruggedness to underline the brand’s impressive levels of reliability.

Available in Ireland in Alternative and Signature levels,  Dacia Sandero is centered on simplicity and eliminating the unnecessary, giving customers the ability to buy exactly what they need and nothing more with the Signature trim level offering further comfort and design.

From entry level the Sandero features Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), four airbags, Daytime Running Lights, height adjustable headrests, 60/40 split folding rear seat, electric front windows and Radio with CD, MP3, USB and Bluetooth as standard.

Moving up to the Signature trim level, additional standard equipment includes 15” alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, 7-funtion trip computer, cruise control, front fog lights, manual air conditioning and rear electric windows, all for a shockingly affordable price.

Driveability takes a significant step forward too, the arrival of the new TCe 90 petrol engine, a 1.2 16v 75 engine and the 1.5 dCi 90, giving an even better driving experience and less time stuck at the pumps.

It is styled to highlight the versatility of a car that is eminently compact on the outside (1,733 mm wide by 4,058 mm long, overall), yet hugely spacious on the inside. Reliability and practicality come as a given in a modern, dynamic package. Sandero also has excellent ground clearance and underbody protection, capable of standing up to the toughest road conditions.

Dacia Sandero Engines:

With Sandero, Dacia is introducing the brand new TCe 90 three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.  Lively and responsive, this TCe (Turbo Control efficiency) engine (898 cc) marks tremendous progress in technology and downsizing.  It delivers 90 hp at 5,250 rpm. Its torque of 135 Nm is available from low revs too, 90% from 1,650 rpm.

The TCe 90 is a featherweight champion in many senses, weighing 15kg less than a traditional engine of equivalent power. It combines driveability, fuel economy (56.5 mpg), and low CO2 emissions (116 g/km).  Significantly, the TCe 90 enjoys low maintenance costs with improvements such as the timing chain, which is maintenance-free and has the same lifespan as the engine.

Sandero is also available with the 1.5 dCi engine, with 90 hp. The 1.5 dCi is widely renowned for reliability, performance and low environmental impact.

Torque is well-matched to its power, with 220 Nm on hand at 1,750 rpm. This means the 1.5 dCi responds briskly from very low revs, and minimises the need for repeated gear changes, especially in urban driving conditions.  This is achieved with fuel consumption figures among the lowest in the supermini class, and correspondingly low environmental impact. The 1.5 dCi emits just 99 g of CO2 per km, for consumption of 74.3 mpg (combined cycle).

The 1.2 16v 75 engine, available on Sandero, is economical to buy and to run, and offers versatile performance in both urban and open-road driving conditions. This 1,149 cc unit develops peak power of 75 hp. The 1.2 16v 75 engine consumes 48.7 mpg for CO2 emissions of 135 g per km.
